The working culture has changed
Although millennials played a huge role in introducing the world to digitisation, Gen Z is here to take control and shape the future of digitisation. Millennials believed in a shared economy where people worked with each other. However, as we enter the modern economic reality, Gen Z is ready to challenge the norms by changing the shared working space and taking complete control of their work. Blogging is a platform which allows people to work independently and take both credit and criticism for their work. This also gives Gen Z an opportunity to be more open towards taking risks and enjoy the complete benefits of their work.
Furthermore, unlike the millennials who were bound to 9 to 5 jobs and their work cubicles, Gen Z believes in working at their own pace and from their own comfort zone. Freedom to express yourself
The earlier generations have witnessed an era where they had to fight to get freedom. Whether it is political, racial or social freedom, these generations fought harder to be free. Although the struggle still exists, Gen Z is freer to choose their path and lead a life of their choice. Gen Z is the first generation to grow in a digital network formed up of Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube and are constantly surrounded by Subscribers, Likes and Followers. As gen Z is steadily curating this new form of socialization, they believe in changing the norms and freely expressing their views.
Gen Z is more focused on seeking the freedom to be themselves and not be a part of the system. They make their own paths and take pride in successfully walking and falling apart on their self-made path. With the power of internet on their fingertips, this generation doesn’t want to limit their views to themselves. Instead, they want freedom of speech and the right to present their opinions.
Additionally, Gen Z strives for financial freedom instead of depending on pocket money or a single income, Gen Z wants to start making their money early and from multiple sources. As being a blogger doesn’t need an age limit or a formal commitment to only pursue one profession, students can start blogging while continuing their studies or full-time professionals can take the support of blogging to make an additional income. Additionally, Gen Z will not be dependent on the pension schemes after their retirement and will prefer more fluidity in life than financial strain. Blogging will facilitate Gen Z to cash out more money from multiple points throughout their lifetime.
Thus, as we cannot raise our kids for the world we were born in, we must raise the new generation to be more independent and confident. The future will be more digital and will hold ample of opportunities for bloggers and we can take pride in raising a generation of bloggers.
