It is not a secret that backlinks are one of the strongest ranking factors. Site owners know that very well and are increasingly interested in getting the most out of that fact.
How, you ask?
Very simple. Anyone that is doing link building on a larger scale has surely noticed that more and more editors and bloggers have started to request fees to publish your content on their blog, even if you offer something educational and non-promotional. While Google does not support this practice, it is easy to understand the financial motives that fuel these practices.
With that in mind, guys at Point Visible decided to take the best out of the bad situation and do research on sponsored posts to help other prospective bloggers. They've looked at their internal data (~230 sites) to see the difference in sponsored post fees across 10 popular niches and different site authority ranges.
While the results are in no way groundbreaking (i.e. sites with stronger authority ask for higher fees on average), the sample is big enough to present decent averages to give you a better idea of what to expect if you plan to do a lot of blogger outreach throughout this year.
